“We have used the HYBENX® Brand family of products in our practice for years, primarily for treatment of canker sores, periodontal pockets, and peri-implantitis.
For canker sores, we first apply a topical anesthetic, followed by the HYBENX Treatment.
In periodontal therapy, we use it as an adjunct in scaling and root planing (SRP). Local anesthetic was originally used to provide comfort, but lately we simply apply and remove HYBENX first, prior to SRP, to relieve discomfort. Plus, the prior application of HYBENX seems to make the SRP easier by helping loosen the calculus o the root surface. Inflammation seems to be reduced by the end of the procedure. Use of HYBENX seems to reduce pain during and after the procedure and the greater the inflammation, the greater the pocket reduction on follow up examination.”
